On Friday 3 November, St Chad’s in Shrewsbury will come alive to the sounds of the Voskresenije (Resurrection) Choir of St Petersburg, one of Russia’s premier choirs, who will sing sacred music by Rachmaninov, Tshesnokov, Sinoviev, Caccini and other Russian composers, as well as modern and classic folk songs. The ensemble, led by conductor Jurij Maruk, consists of nine professional vocalists and students, including one of the deepest basso profundo singers in the world.
