A new series of free lunchtime concerts has been added to a list of established evening and weekend events to bring new musical life to a post-lockdown Shrewsbury town centre.
The concerts have featured many types of music, but a special emphasis on young performers has been refreshing. One of the most recent concerts was a top grade performance by 16-year-old Shrewsbury pianist Rose Sherpa.
St Alkmund’s Church in the very heart of the town has been staging a varied programme of enjoyable concerts on Tuesday lunchtimes since the end of May. The wonderful acoustic of the church has ensured that full audiences have been enjoying the music to best advantage.
The concerts are set to continue through the summer, as are outside events for children in collaboration with the Hive. All concerts and events are detailed on the church’s new website www.stalkmundschurchshrewsbury.org/music-concerts.
