Bridgnorth’s second Green Festival

Following the success of last year’s first Green Festival in Bridgnorth, the second festival will be held on Saturday 9th September in the Castle Gardens. As with last year, the event will showcase local environmental and ecological groups, and retailers working towards a greener community, to inform people about what they can do to help and what resources are available in the area.

Last year’s event was supported by many local groups that covered a wide range of topics from composting to volunteering, community gardening to refill, wildlife and birds, recycled or repurposed goods, children’s activities and supported by local musicians. This year, organisers plan to make the event bigger with more quality attractions.

The event is once again being organised by the enthusiastic, dedicated team from Sustainable Bridgnorth, a grassroots group who support, and lead campaigns to help the Bridgnorth District become a sustainable, low carbon community. Successes range from popular conferences that share information about environmental issues, and the climate crisis to the well-known ‘Prevent Pointless Plastic’ Campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastic, for which the group was accredited by the marine conservation charity, Surfers Against Sewage, in 2020.

If you would like to be involved with supporting the event, please get in touch at greenbridgnorth@gmail.com.
