Bridgnorth carnival 1

Bridgnorth Town Carnival is back for its fourth year, with the parade set to wind through town on Saturday June 25, finishing at Severn Park where there will be a festival of food, drink, and entertainment. Last year’s Carnival Queen Annabelle Pritchard is pictured with the Carnival Prince and Princess and the Mayor and Lady Mayor – the crowning of this year’s Carnival royalty takes place on 14 May.

Organisers are seeking volunteers to help out – full training (and refreshments!) will be provided. Email events@bridgnorthtowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01746 762231 for details.

Meanwhile, Broseley’s own Festival returns for the second time on June 18 and 19, and organiser Jo Pritchard says it’s going to be even bigger this year. She reveals, “We’ve got circus workshops, children’s choirs and a fabulous Simple Minds tribute band, Alive and Kicking. Market Drayton Radio will be broadcasting live again… they enjoyed it so much last year, they’re coming back for more!”

Shifnal’s Carnival also takes place on Saturday 25 June and bands are booked for the procession, with the Carnival Queen, Princess, Prince and Attendants ready to don their crowns on the big day. This year’s Carnival raffle features some fantastic prizes, and the event will be a feast of family fun.
