No regrets as charity show is huge hit

There were ‘No Regrets’ when Bridgnorth musical theatre actress Sally Jones, pictured, handed over a cheque for £2,155.31 to Severn Hospice .

After attracting a full house at Bridgnorth’s Castle Hall last month for her West End critically acclaimed performance of ‘Piaf – The Life Story & Songs of Edith Piaf’ the actress was thrilled to present the charity with the complete proceeds from the night.

The concert was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the death of  Edith Piaf (“The Little Sparrow”), most famous for her iconic songs No Regrets and La Vie En Rose, who died in a hospice in the South of France in 1963.

And from the phenomenal response from the capacity crowd at The Castle Hall on 14th October (which included 3 standing ovations) Sally provided a fitting tribute to the woman who rose from the backstreets of Paris to become the most highly paid female entertainer in the world.

Such was the success of the Castle Hall show that Sally will be doing a repeat performance this Saturday, 11th November at 7.30pm at The Birchmeadow Centre, Broseley.  A number of people who attended the Bridgnorth performance will be going again for ‘a second dose’ of the show in which Sally tells the whole life story of Piaf as well as performing 19 of her legendary songs with panache, emotion and in a perfect French accent.

Some tickets are still available at Downes greengrocers, Broseley or on line at www.ticketsource.co.uk/sally-jones
