Athletes impress

Team medal winners

Bridgnorth Athletic Club set a new club record, both for the number of winning athletes and the total of medals won at the Shropshire County Athletics Championships held in May in Telford. A total of 38 athletes won 78 medals between them, comprising 42 golds, 18 silvers and 18 bronzes. New championship-best performances were set by Dan Galloway in U13 boys’ 1500m and Oliver Carvell in U15 boys’ 800m and 1500m.

Lucy Elcock of the U15 girls squad won an amazing four gold medals on the track, with other winners being Lilly Goulden , Lucia Rooney, Esther Carvell, Zoe Gilbody and Wentworth Sund; Caitlin Belcher, Charlotte Gilbody, Shana Stewardson, Holly Bingham, Pippa Goulden, Charlie Carvell, Joe Cotham,
