Pip’s Blue success

Local artist Pip Jones has triumphed in a well-established art competition. The Shropshire Open Art Competition has run for 30 years, and 2017’s top prize was taken by Pip’s painting Severn Blue. Pip, who has worked professionally as a painter for many years, has exhibited nationally and has had work accepted by The Royal Academy. Her work was most recently on display at Shrewsbury’s Gateway centre.

Pip said, “Having had a break from painting for the last few years, this has given me a wonderful platform to resume my painting career. I enjoy using watercolour and mixed media and draw inspiration from the energy light and mood I experience in the landscape.”
