The second of this year’s colourful, flag-waving Step Back to the 1940s weekends arrives at the Severn Valley Railway on Saturday 6 July. There’ll be live music, re-enactments and entertainment all along the line, plus an evening Big Band Show on the Saturday, featuring the Kalamazoo Band.
Arley will host a wartime wedding, Royal Army Medical Corps Advanced Dressing Station, Anderson Air Raid Shelter, a replica WWI tank, wedding dress display, live music and more. The battle returns to Highley alongside an allied encampment and the Engine House will host a vintage marketplace, while at Bridgnorth, visitors can show their ID cards and take selfies in the ARP shelter, see an exhibition about RAF Bridgnorth, browse vintage stalls and see live entertainment.
