New head roles

Pupil numbers are up for the fourth year running at Wellington’s Wrekin College as it unveils a new staff line-up in key academic roles. The settings welcomed 485 pupils in September, moving towards 500 in the next academic year.

Head Tim Firth introduced a new teaching team at the start of the term: Tom Lintern, who joins as Head of Computing; Daryl Szwarc is the new Head of Design and Technology; and Ben Smith, will be Head of History and Politics.

Meanwhile, Alison Wray, new Head of Support for Learning, joins after recently being SENCO at London’s Royal Ballet School. Mr Firth said, “These are a very able heads of department who’ve been attracted to us and will add much value and experience.”
