Following an unusual voting procedure, Bridgnorth has a new mayor elect. The absence of members at a Council Meeting meant current Deputy Mayor Cllr Kirstie Hurst-Knight was forced to use her casting vote to elect herself as the next town mayor. Cllr Hurst-Knight did not use her casting vote to elect the deputy mayor, however, and this position will again come up for election at the Council’s AGM on Saturday 16 May.
