Home-Made Apley Beef Burgers

This month’s recipe is courtesy of Sarah of Mike & Sarah’s Butchers within Apley Farm Shop.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

455 g Apley Home Farm Minced Beef
25g Chopped Fresh Parsley or 1 Tbsp. Dried Mixed Herbs
Pinch Sea Salt
Pinch Ground Black Pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 Red Onion, finely diced (optional)
1 Lime (optional)
1 small Red Chilli (optional)

Method

1. Mix all the main ingredients in a bowl – by far the best wayto do this is to use your hands!
2. Add the beaten egg to bind the mixture together
3. Divide the mixture into 4 even-sized balls and flatten out with the palms of your hands into classic burger shapes. Pat them well to prevent them falling apart when cooked, and chill in the fridge for an hour before cooking.

Whilst the burgers are chilling prepare a tasty Salsa accompaniment!

Tomato & Corn Salsa – Ingredients

2 Lge Fresh Ripe Tomatoes – diced
3 Tbsps. Sweetcorn kernels
1 Red Onion – peeled & diced
1 Green Pepper, chopped and deseeded
1 Clove Garlic, peeled & crushed
1 Tsp. Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar

Method

Combine all the ingredients in small bowl. Chill until required.
