Sand Martins’ visit Bridgnorth

Construction work was halted at a local petrol station as a colony of sand martins  used the area as a nesting site.  These relatives of swallows and house martins are summer visitors from Africa and the sandy bank left by workers provided the perfect spot for their new home.

Bridgnorth Swift’s Carol Wood told us, “We hope they have a successful, breeding season and bring pleasure to many local residents.”
