When Ozzie the gypsy cob was busy grazing in his field just two years ago he had no idea that fame was just around the corner.
His name was changed to The Wizard of Oz as he continued to perform magic at competitions!
“I was really busy two years ago with coaching, training and looking after my little son Jack so I wasn’t looking to take on another horse,” says Zena.
“But Ozzie found me – his owners, who are friends, told me they were thinking of selling him and I agreed to try him out.
“I’m a dressage coach and immediately felt there was a connection – a kind of ‘golden thread’, despite him not being schooled, and I knew then he had great potential.“He was also very handsome and especially striking as he has two blue wall eyes, usually just one is coloured.
Name change
“A piebald gypsy cob, 15.1 hands high and full of leg feather, performing dressage! But I made the decision to buy him and the journey to get him fit began.”
